Hi, Richard,

>> Talk about woulda, coulda, shoulda...

same here with the stocks I don't follow, and it's good and healthy
thinking for current market. I am usually lowkey on posting due to
very busy full time job. However I can't resist to post on AMD thread
just because of those INTC flames... guys here know I bought truck load of INTC during the FP selloff.

Anyway, my thought of AMD - The key points for amd to survive:

1. would socket 7 survive?
2. would tier 1 support?
3. could AMD deliever?

IBM/AMD deal answer the #2, #3 (IBM known to be strict on QA) and make #1 possible. Besides it ensures more demand than supply in K6 pipeline; a warrant on the K6 price.

The beautiful part of AMD/IBM deal - IBM only get the bare dies from AMD to do the C4 itself. This would free up AMD capacity for regular
K6 customers. It's surely putting pressure on CPQ/DELL/GTW and I think the weak
one (GTW?) is going to make the next move.

If you miss AMD, you should wait until it tests the support to buy 99 leap. I
think $40 should support well but the market is volatile. Don't
lose your bet money is the key thing.

Good luck,
dee
