Although it's Fallujah rather than Baghdad, Cheney was finally proven correct when he said that the Iraqis would be dancing in the streets.

Kimmet was on TV this morning, saying it was just a small minority of Iraqis who are doing this. Does he really believe that? Does he really believe that if this onlyreflected the feelings of just a "small minority" of Iraqis that they would be permitted to do the things they are doing?

They hate us. They hate each other. Saddam was hanging on by virtue of his reputation, his pretentions, his past cruelties. Part of me hopes Bush does get reelected, because he deserves the full blame for this fiasco; if Kerry is elected, he will be blamed for whatever he does, whether he stays or leaves. "It wouldna' happened like that under Bush," they'll say.

Usually we have choices that are bad and worse. In Iraq we have choices that are horrible and "worser".
