Yes, Gemstar does have some IPR here. You can look over at QCOM's BREW website and see that they've been working together for at least 3 years ... perhaps more, how quick time passes.

This seems somewhat impractical to me. To navigate through several hundred channels on roughly 3 square inches is cumbersome at best. It might be more worthwhile to purchase a spring-loaded flip-top model and set it next to your swimming pool ... it is neither a PVR (IPR aside) nor a diving board.
