I shouldn't have made light of this IPG methodology ... a foolish frame of mind. The same method, and ones similar, was a concern for me a few years back after Philip's came out with its Pronto (actually purchased one which demonstrated my concern) and a Sony executive's comment (vague, nonetheless disturbing) on a guide via a remote device with screen. It's also crossed my mind that Henry initially acquired the two e-book companies as additional defense because of certain IP in this remote access area together with its existing patents. It is indeed something to keep an eye on although I believe that Gemstar is both armed and prepared to respond if this form of competition ever truly materializes. Presently, it is comforting to witness the company becoming focused once again to the market at-hand.
