<He served and Bush served> Kerry served in Vietnam. Bush did not. Vietnam was fought largely on the backs of draftees. The Guard was a way to avoid the draft. Iraq is being fought to a large extent on the backs of the Guard -- joining the Guard is no longer a way to avoid being sent to war. Bush avoided serving in Vietnam. He is no war hero. He is a draft dodger in a flight suit. As I said, I can respect people who openly opposed the war and tried to avoid the draft. I respect people who serve in the Guard. But to have wangled his way into a safe position to avoid serving in Vietnam, and now to pose in a flight suit taking credit for being a great military leader -- it is nauseating.
