The armed services existed between those wars. You could have served even though no wars were going on. Guard or reserves. You do a lot about Bush being a draft dodger by being in the guard. Parts of his unit flew in Vietnam.

BTW, not everyone who was in the services went to Vietnam. I was regular army because I volunteered for the draft. My only promise about where and how I served was 3 hot meals and a cot, if I wasn't too busy to enjoy them.

You jump all over Bush because his type of plane wasn't used in Vietnam but you couldn't even put in a weekend a month during peace time.
