If the cost of extracting offshore oil were much less than the current price of oil, then there would be more offshore drilling.

The cost of oil is very volatile. New drilling is a big commitment. If the cost stays where it is or increases you will see more offshore drilling.

All of which doesn't change the large point that there is only so much oil and sooner or later supplies will tighten.

In past, I have listened to all the GOP nonsense re. the demise of al Qaeda, and not refuted it too strongly.

I've seen nothing from anyone GOP or not saying Al Qaeda has met its demise or even that its demise is imminent. Its demise is not imminent but it is weaker. Weaker doesn't mean not dangerous, in fact in some ways it may be more dangerous like a wounded animal is often more dangerous then a healthy one.

This administration has failed to carry out the mandate it set for itself after 9/11. And the failure is impressive!

Nonsense.
