Now, how often would I observe advertising on the site? A lot...just like the Comcast guide (which I still have but don't use cause TIVO overlays it).

This is very important and again reminds me of something Henry once said during a CC which I found odd at the time ... I suppose that's why I can still hear his words and reflective tone. When asked something about multiple IPGs in a household by an analyst, Henry replied: In the end, it may come down to which remote the viewer picks up. What? ... I thought hearing this, expecting a stronger reply ... but I guess I understand it more as time passes and events unfold. If we fast forward from the time he made the comment to today and use the TiVo example you gave it reflects it in a better light.

Suppose you bought your TiVo Series2 today and also picked up a 16:9 aspect HDTV with an integrated IPG. Being a Comcast subscriber (don't know if you subscribe to digital and have a box but I'll assume you do) you also have an STB with an integrated IPG. You have 3 remotes. You would obviously choose the TiVo remote but the beauty here is that Gemstar has collected revenue from each IPG. There are ~122M households with ~300M TVs in the US market. I would estimate that over this decade the domestic market might yield as many as 500M IPGs. Taking a big slice of this market, maybe around 40-60%, would be a great accomplishment for the company ... but like Yogi says: It ain't over till it's over.

Stew
