H-man, re: "there is plenty of evidence of WMD programs.."

Give it a rest. I don't care if they had "wmd" programs or "wmd program related activities" or if they only planned to. What I, and I believe most Americans, cared about was Saddam's capacity to cause harm and the imminence of any danger he might present down the road.

In the long run many countries with bad intentions get sidetracked on the road of time. It's not necessary to spend billions and hundreds or thousands of young lives to attack and occupy a collapsing regime.

I don't believe that any thinking man would argue that the American public would have supported this attack/invasion if they'd known it wasn't an "open arms and flowers" operation, if they'd known that there was no appreciable danger of wmd attack, or even existence, now or in the forseeable future, if they'd known of the blood and treasure cost we'd pay for this folly and if they'd known that we'd end up creating the fertile ground for a dramatic increase in antiAmerican sentiment in the Mideast and the world together with an Iraq so chaotic that it could be used as a terrorist haven. That's why it was so important for Bush/Cheney to move fast before their untruths started to stink in the sun. Are you willing to say that I'm wrong on that?
