Printer Question

Can anyone recommend a good multi use printer that will be used for photo printing as well as printing everyday documents and letters.

I am obviously not a professional with photo's or anything but I do have more and more of a need to print photographs and I am looking for simplicity as well as some quality.

Also, is there a scanner that that comes to mind that would be easy and useful for putting old photo's and negatives into my computer.
