WSJ plays the same tired tune I see Dale.

I used to think like this too.

Problem is, what do they say to the many counter-examples people can give?

What about they guy cut here in January 2004 - mid-40s - expert on all CAD systems for this company. He gave advice to groups of other senior designers. He was the expert they came to when other experts could not answer a question. Gone. Cut back.

Meanwhile, many lower-level CAD drafters weren't touched.

I can give many more. Their arguments are incomplete, and simplistic, IMHO. That's why I refuse to read them now. I used to subscribe, but they have their own idelogy, much like Marx did (just different).

It is simply not true that the way out is higher-level skills and jobs. Those pay the most - and will also be some of the ones attacked first by outsourcing.

I don't have the answer, but I know the WSJ is clueless on this.
