C2,
We have to change our political system. Nader is right about that. The qualities of the candidates suck. Look at the last three--gore, bush and kerry. Can't get out of their own way.
Bush masked it by getting the white guy oil crew to run things backed by the neocon ideology guys. I bought in to most of it but now only accept the preemption portion. I left years of old school national interests beliefs to plunge into iraq. I/They were right about the war but the post-war??? No one can tell me now that Bush and Co would in hindsight would choose to go to war knowing that americans would be blown up, burned and hung almost a year after the war ended. Also i would never have believed that this admin could be so stupid over Condi testimony. Many Americans now believe Bush admin has something to hide and some are independents like me. I dont really think 9/11 could have been prevented but the bull shit about principle in not letting condi testify is just that.
If the super smart white guy team that bush relied on--cheney, rummy, rove, card, wolfy, et al.--ran a corporation, they would be fired over Iraq. Hell the ceo(bush) would be fired as well except for the fact that the ceo in waiting is the stupid JFK.
So as an independent and moderate, once again i say, that if kerry pre-announces a veep, secy state, defense etc that leads me to believe that he wont be a "wuss" on defense on FP, a protectionist on trade, and a class warrior on taxes, I will consider voting for him, thus changing the outcome as others do the same.
What kerry needs to say is that he will have a different but tough fp and define it; that he will not engage in anti-globalist chauvinism in this ridiculous quest to keep jobs here(not 300k jobs created in march); and that he wont rescind tax cuts for folks over 200k in income, just tweak the rates somewhat to be more realistic about the deficit. Also liberalize death tax rules without elimination and allow the dividend tax break to continue.
What do you think C2? Mike
