Redfish, the problem with creating great fear is that in the long run it creates great counter force. In the cold war we all went out of our way to find mutual ground and we won that war through peaceful means by out competing and making our allies stronger while theirs got weaker. We did all this under the threat of devastating nuclear war. I think there's a lesson there that we should acknowledge; that is that diplomacy, taking risk and patience aren't necessarily the tools of fools and cowards. The millions of lost lives and devastation of the worlds air and water that never happened can attest to that.

Can you imagine what our current batch of bozos in the Administration would have done at the height of the cold war?

I better rest my fingers or write a book. g.
