Since the beginning of the 20th century, I can think of only two wars where the goals were successfully accomplished..........WW II and the Gulf War. And WW II was successful mostly because of the Marshall Plan that came after the war.

WWI may have been successfully accomplished depending on what you mean by that term. The immediate threat to France, England ect. was removed. The fact that another war happened a generation later doesn't mean WWI was totally unsuccessful. The goals of fighting the war where achieved even if it did sew the seeds of latter problems.

Korea was successful. It would have been better if we had managed to liberate the north but South Korea was defended and has become a reasonably prosperous democracy.

Other conflicts that are probably to small to be called wars where successful.
