Bush Inches Away From Kerry: Bush 47% Kerry 44% Friday April 02, 2004--President George W. Bush now leads Senator John F. Kerry 47% to 44% in the latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll. Today's results are based solely upon interviews completed after National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice agreed to testify before the 9/11 commission. Prior to that time, Kerry had a modest lead over Bush. Now, however, the survey results are back to where they were before Richard Clarke's accusations kicked off a media frenzy nearly two weeks ago. The President's Job Approval rating is now at its highest level since Clarke appeared on 60 Minutes. Also, for the first time this year, Republicans hold a slight edge on the Generic Congressional Ballot… In data collected before today's report of strong job creation in March, voters have a slight preference for Bush over Kerry when it comes to managing the economy. Prior to release of today's jobs data, the Hudson Employment Index showed that number of employees who say their firms are hiring has been increasing all year.
