This "New York Times" story demonstrates that Horowitz is getting more traction on this subject than I thought he would. I guess the "Chomskyite" leanings of the Academics, both off and on campus, have really got people up in arms. A direct result of 911.

The usual dangerous silliness. First, if you look at the numbers for university faculty as a whole, they are not as reported here, as we all know. Second, if you start mandating university hiring take account of political views, that route is well beyond dangerous.

Horowitz is Horowitz. A nut. He's getting traction in the predictable places at the moment, places he would not have had the far right not cheated their way into a presidential spot--deceived the country about its politics (the old I'm a uniter not a divider nonsense) and had they not been selected rather than elected, as the saying goes, by the supremes.

Hopefully, it will go ahead before something less than serious damage is done. I recall tek saying that about the Bush foreign policy back before the Iraq invasion. Wonder how he feels now.
