Well, we knew going in that the Iraqis would throw flowers at first, then turn on us. Nobody should expect gratitude from Arabs for anything for more than a minute and a half. They are running on rage and injured pride. Our job is to set up an Iraqi government asap, and that's what we're doing. So then they will blame us for not doing enough, just as they blame us now for doing too much. But if something stable emerges in the end that is better than the surrounding autocracies, it will have ripple effects anyway.
