One reason you seemed to miss is that some folks tend to
excessively nuance & often on issues where nuance is
inappropriate, like changing the real or intended meaning
on an issue or event into something completely different.
IOW, often nuance is just a PC way of revising history to
fit into an ideological POV. That makes other folks highly
skeptical of nuance whenever it's used.
