We do consume reasonably large quantities of butyric acid daily with food (significant presence as esters in milk fat, and also gobs of free acid in rancid oils - so, the longer oil is used to make french fries, the better?..). I wonder how much (proportionately) improvement could be made by adding extra butyrate? And how it could be tracked in a statistically meaningful way on the background of butyrate-rich diet?
