I know that a lot of fertilized eggs, a surprisingly large percentage, are automatically aborted, but I've never heard the idea that rape victims automatically expel the fertilized eggs. I think you can't be right about that. Awful things happen to raped women in war, and often they get pregnant from war rapes and then are rejected by their families. Mass rape has been used as a tool of war in Bangladesh, the Former Yugoslavia, and Rwanda, and many other places, and many pregnancies have resulted.
If you put "forced pregnancies" into google, using the quotes so you only get that specific term, you get 554 hits. If you are feeling at all shaky today, don't go there, just take my word for it.
Late term abortion of any sort sticks in my craw, though there are circumstances in which I would defend it (for example, if the life of the woman is at risk) and to use any procedure that could cause pain or suffering to a fetus at any stage is indefensible. |
