If I made that statement, in reverse, you would accuse me of generalizing and oversimplifying. Just for starters.

Clarke was a brilliant Bureaucrat who accomplished a lot in his career. That is why no one, I mean NO ONE, from the Clinton Administration went after Miniter's book. They knew he got the material from Clarke. But Clarke besmirched his reputation.

When Clarke wrote an account of the Clinton/Bush terror activities that contradicted what he had said, and included material that was easily refuted, he put himself into the political arena and caused the white heat of that to focus on him. He could expect no less than what he got.
