Yes your correct. Unless I wasn't doing it right,(I'm new to XP), file transfers was a big PIA.

Laplink can connect via modem,network,serial,parallel or USB port and wireless. It also has "file synchronization" to keep files updated using 2 computers. I find it so much easier for me.

My question though is if you drag and drop to another computer's DVD drive. Do you have to burn it or is the drag and drop sufficient to store backup files on a DVD? (I'm new to DVD's too)
