jih, Re: <It would be foolish to assume that Intel will not continue to improve.>

Of course Intel will continue to improve. That's the nature of the beast.

It is also foolish to respond to FUD as though it was anything else.

What *valid* point do you think it had?

<Rant>
That the current current limited .90µ Intel die that is uncompetitive with Opteron is smaller than Opteron at .130µ?

Prescott should never be compared to Opteron. Not playing in the same sandbox. If it wants to compare with Maximum Xeons they are still uncompetitive on 32 bit code and non-starters on 64 bit code.

You can shrink a turd 'till it ceases to exist but you'll not change what it is. In this case Intc did the shrink and made it slower, hotter, and unfit for general use. Maybe in the near future one'll pop out that's fit something.

Or that you should believe INTC's roadmaps but not AMDs?

That it took two shrinks to get Northwood from .180µ to the geometric .90µ theoretical size?

</Rant>

Lets hear it for *truth* Intel style.
