Wouldn't Watergate be legal now under the Patriot act, as with all domestic spying?

I see a constant stream of editorials from worshipers of the cabal in the local paper talking about bringing peace and prosperity to Iraq and how the naysayers are basically liars and cheats. Don't these people ever stop to think about how, for a mere price of 200 billion dollars and thousands of lives, their national priorities have been co-opted from issues concerning the long term well being of our nation and it's people to the concerns of one country thousands of miles away. It's a common psychological dynamic where people look without for an identified patient in order to avoid having to look within their own family mess, except in this case it occurring on the grandest scale in centuries. These people deserve to be hit by the train wreck they have implicitly supported with their ignorance and denial.
