Congrats Martin, I dont have too many ideas on this DTV thing, but now that you mention Microsoft... There are some predictions that someday Microsoft might be into broadcast services--they may even own a TV network someday. If there was "20 year" investment to make here, it would have to be in the local broadcasters, and just forget technology--way too hard to know who's tech will be there, and way to hard to pick companies in a very crowded sector.

The frequency spectrum that local TV (and maybe radio) now contol has to be worth a lot more than what you would expect based on the extent to which local TV stations currently exploit it.

I wonder if Microsoft is investing in local broadcasters--or maybe MSNBC will just come down from sattellite someday into one's tele-cellphone.
