If the information that makes up the conscience of someone were immortal (or any other information for that matter) it would have to draw on redundancy from elsewhere in the universe. The universe is not becoming more redundant, but experiences a growth in entropy that we experience as time. There is no mechanism for freezing these information sources much less allowing them to increase in complexity. Life is change.
