Yeah, well, I was irked.

I did label it a rant.

And I think most of it's pretty close.

On your other post:

Intel's .13 10% die shrink came with a whole new layout. They may have to do that again, RSN.

As far as shrinks at feature size are concerned, I *THINK* both companies pretty figure on physical shrink to rules, then optimize once and *HOPE* the next feature size will be available. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. (sort of like my AC at home. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.It alternates.) When it doesn't we get things like extra metal layers...

But I think Intel's .09 is in real trouble and that their year end '03 accounting for it was cooked.

Which is why I went shorter Intel and longer AMD today.
