Hello Dave, I just got caught up with my second favorite thread, the CFZ thread (the first being BBR, of course :0)
I find SI useful, for expertise tapping, information mining, record keeping, entertainment, group therapy in cases of loss, and frenzied celebration in events of wins.
I am now anxious that the latest developments on CFZ resulted in frequent, valuable, but yes, definitely naughty contributors getting the boot ( Member 988914 and Member 9080458 ).
I can understand how a temporary ban would calm matters down.
I suggest that longer-term but also temporary punishment might involve electronic collaring the offenders so that they can only roam within the confines of this particular thread, be taunted by folks outside the confines of home-arrest thread, and not able to fight back.
However, for the purpose of maintaining the dynamism that has been a hallmark of SI, and that is part and parcel to SI’s usefulness as well as entertainment quotient, I hope there are ways within the rules/structure/process of SI whereby the more energetic citizens of this cyber-space community can receive paroles, early release, pardons, and such.
What will it take to free comrade Joel and Comradess Laura?
Sincerely,
Jay Chen |
