Getting tax rates is difficult to impossible for any length of time. However, a method of getting something like an effective rate just occurred to me, but I need to get the data and crunch the numbers.

As far as " I have heard it said that this is the first time anyone can remember the US cutting taxes during war. ", yeah, but did they prove it? One of the probelms with a statement like that is that reliable numbers don't exist that far back for many things. However, federal revenue should be known. Population, well, you really have to settle for ten year censuses and interpolate between. But whoever made that statement would have to have done it to actually know that of which they speak. And my bet is they didn't.

MKTBUZZ can't take the truth or truthful debate. There are only two aliases banned from this thread: MKTBUZZ and jlallen. jl can come back anytime he can stop wasting posts with vulgarity.
TILT!
Gimme a break. You just admitted "laura bush" isn't banned and yet she has the most vulgar mouth on this site. No one tops her. JLA and MKTBUZZ don't even get close. So clearly something else is at work.

The weak economy contributes only a small fraction to the deficit
Eh? Then why are so many states that DIDN'T cut taxes having trouble? Your turn to prove your statement.
