Loyal Americans, and there are whole bunch of them, feel personally attacked whenever a serviceman is hurt in Iraq.It is considered a direct attack upon our way of life.

Not at all, but the difference is this. We have a way to express it while a country without a government or band of terrorists does not. We provide the best weapons and training, funds that are needed, plans to minimize casualties and so on.

Some countries like Kuwait, Iran, Turkey or the Kurds could actually be enjoying the elimination of the Baathish party or Saddam supporters. So its not a universal feeling.

Their leaders can still dislike out presence in the region
and can blame just about any internal problems on that whether the problems stem from our presence or not.
