Well, the only way I dare to play treasuries is to short them via the Juno Fund. My wife's entire pension fund (not her IRA) is in TIPS because there isn't any better alternative with the system she's in. If there were a short term treasury fund there I would put her into that. But the only alternatives are long bonds, money market, and various stock funds. TIPS will be hit just like other bonds by interest raste rises, but the inflation-adjustment offers some help. TIPS have been a fabulous place to be for the last few years.
