Let me start right off the bat saying that George W. Bush, in my opinion, is not fit to be in the Oval Office, nor any other office where he is in control of other peoples lives. Not just because he is not competent as a leader of a nation, but because he has terrible and terrifying character deficits which should disqualify him in the minds of even the kindest and generous of critics.
I am not speaking of the political nonsense he promotes, I am talking about a deeper and more troubling side to the immature man.
There is a misconception out in the world that Gov. "Dubya" Bush is just some sort of dumb hapless product of privilege. Many think he is basically a nice Christian guy with good intentions, if not endowed with intellect. Some even think he has tremendous intellect since he went to Yale and Harvard, but those are usually the ones who think he is a "religious" and "spiritual" man because he goes into a church. He goes to a church so you will think that.
You aren't smart because you got into those schools, nor are you smart if you manage to stay in them. If your daddy is a big name alum, you can get the admission and academic rules bent for you, just as you can get military laws bent for you if daddy is in Washington. The character damage is the type which happens when one accepts this type of hand up without question.
The developing George never learns what it means to be responsible. He is not the product of hard work, he is the product of privilege, and he can never understand those who have had to work hard, nor those who have been tested by fire.
What kind of mature man would mock someone he has the power of life and death over?
What kind of person grows up from a child who tortured and killed helpless animals as a childhood pasttime?
What kind of man would take the job of Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces knowing full well he would never put himself in harms way for anyone? Not only would he not allow himself to be put in harms way, but he mocks the very military he is to command by simply not showing up for duty for large extended periods of time.
What kind of grown man lets hundreds of men and women sit year after year in his states prisons for doing something he himself did...consume an illicit substance? I am not talking about selling, I am talking about using.
What kind of man lies about this?
What kind of man would hide his own similar misdeeds to preserve his own power?
What kind of man mocks education with his own participation and then claims to be the "Education President"?
What kind of man allows multiple counts of drunk driving to be hidden so he can create the illusion they never happened?
What kind of man smiles to himself knowing he got away with things because power can corrupt the truth in his favor?
What kind of a man speaks quietly with a smirk to an unknown critic of his behavior and says "Who cares what you think!"?
What kind of man overtly LIES to various groups, playing on deepest desires, in order to preserve a voting block?
What kind of man allows and encourages misconceptions about himself that bolster his image in the minds of suggestable wounded people?
What kind of "leader" hides public documents from the public view because they contain information of all of the above?
What kind of leader starts a vanity war to appease his father and distract the public, causing the deaths of over 16,000 innocent people and then jokes about it?
George W. Bush, that's who. A very bad person with a lot to hide. A liar and soon to be exposed criminal bastard.
