RT-Digital Signage, Sony
If this isn't HSS, providing the audio, it should be. With Eight streams of audio and video, imagine the cacophony, if it isn't HSS.

3G-operator "3" is in full swing with its new mobile network for the latest generation of mobile phones. "3" has already opened three boutiques in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö selling its new services and mobiles. All three have been equipped with an advanced information system employing digital multimedia, assembled together with Sony.

"In our multimedia channel within the boutiques we can show everything from advertising clips to tailored information on our services and telephones. There are no limitations. Our collaborating partners have great opportunities for sending targeted information directly to the boutique's customers. Everything is in place to enable us to deliver information on new products and services", says Fredrik Landahl, Head of Marketing at 3.

All the information that appears on the screen is sent from 3's head office in Stockholm to the boutiques via their own network. From the head office the content can be controlled, and via the management software programme content can be selected from a repertoire and playing schedule which is then delivered to a Sony network player to be distributed. The information appears in the boutiques thanks to latest Sony technology including plasma screens, back projection and audio equipment.

"This is an excellent way of presenting the opportunities and advantages the new 3G-technology provides, for example, watching sport and other moving pictures on your mobile phone. " says Fredrik Landahl.

The big difference compared with previous generation mobile telephony is that now, thanks to a built-in video camera, you can also see the person talking to you. In addition, you can connect to your company network with the 3-mobile, and download music or film sequences.

Police and rescue services will have better communications facilities, and by downloading maps to the 3-mobile can arrive on-scene more quickly and easily. Each 3-boutique has up to ***eight media streams of images and sound,*** and Sony is the total solution supplier of the information systems in the boutiques.

"Sony is on the one hand a highly professional supplier with leading-edge technology, and on the other a very strong brand name, which fits in very well with our profile," says Fredrik Landahl.

The information systems will be available in all "3's" boutiques and the company intends to open up a number of boutiques all over the country over the next year.

"3" is owned by Hutchison Whampoa and Investor and is one of the four companies granted a 3G-licence.
