That is an interesting perspective. I think that, for myself, having come to faith later in life, I had to be reasonably sure that the Bible was historically accurate and that it was what it claimed to be, which is the revelation of God.

Jesus said if you don't believe the words He said then believe because of the miracles he performed. Jesus ultimate miracle was to defeat death by raising His body back to life. Jesus then commissioned the Apostles to go and tell others about Him and He gave them the ability to preform the same kind of miracles that he had done as proof that their message had God's approval. (See Hebrews 2:3) That is why Paul said surely the signs of an apostle were performed by him as proof to the Corinthians that He had God's authority to teach. 2 Cor 12:12

I hope you will consider the implication of what I'm saying. If it is true that Paul and the other apostles were empowered by God to do miracles then it is also very likely that they were empowered to teach the truth when it came to doctrine and the writing of scripture. Of course people will always twist the truth but that's not the bibles fault. It is up to us to diligently study the proper meaning of any particular scripture taking the historical grammatical context into consideration. The main things are the plain things in scripture.

Have a good day
Greg
