Al Qaeda strategy is to use the strength and character of the Great Satan evil infidels against them. They hit the jackpot with the Twin Towers attack. The passengers paid for the flight [fuel, aircraft, aircrew] to enable the box-cutter guys who couldn't land a plane other than into buildings to take over.
Not all the opium is used in Afghanistan and it's all used in Pakistan either.
Where is it going? Some of the tons of opium or heroin is finding its way to the USA, where Americans use lots of it. So, that's one aspect of American character that Al Qaeda is using against them.
How does it get through the border? Well, it certainly does and has been for years. There are customs people who are paid to look the other way when another shipment of opium is coming through. There is bribery and corruption in the huge drug-control governmental money-making projects. Drug controllers get big budgets so drugs are good in that regard [from their point of view]. They supplement the budgets with some revenue from the the drug runners. Weakness number 2 of the American system.
Now, Pakistan has got nukes and there isn't much doubt about that. You know it's true. There is also a large number of Islamic Jihad supporters in Pakistan, many of whom are involved in the security and military services.
We have also seen how the Pakistani chief nuke man was supervising transfer of technology to Libya, North Korea and Saddam was on the list too. Maybe Iran. I have no idea how far the Islamic Bomb circles spread. Any Islamic country which was opposing the Great Satan or could provide something good in return, such as North Korean rocketry, was probably included.
So, why sell just the know how and enrichment technology? Why not cut to the chase and sell the finished product? That would earn a lot more money! Once Pakistan had sufficient noocular bombs to blow up lots of India, they might as well sell some to enable them to do even more in Pakistan.
No doubt Al Qaeda thought, "Hey, 1 + 1 + 1 = Kaboom!!!" That's a triple exclamation blast, not just a dirty bomb.
So Al Q loads a bomb from Pakistan, paid for by Saddam, who was already up to his neck in American confrontation, into a cargo of opium. They delivered it from Pakistan's port to somewhere else, such as New Zealand, which would make it look innocent. You'd think that might not work as our border controls are too tight, trying to keep out biological pests. But a customs guy was recently gaoled for letting drugs through, so it happens.
Then ship it to the USA as a cargo of nuclear-free sheep meat from clean, green, peaceable Hobbitland. Ironic! Talk about a Trojan Horse. A Trojan sheep containing a BIG BANG. A wolf dressed in sheep's clothes.
Apparently Osama's sidekick [number two] visited New Zealand in the 1990s a couple or few times. He wasn't here for the fishing and golf, that's for sure. He presumably organized delivery then. He was representing himself as a hide trader [if I remember rightly]. Google could give you the details.
The container arrives at a USA port. The customs guy, alerted to the shipment of opium/heroin, turns a blind eye and lets it through with a cursory inspection. If people want to ingest heroin, that's their problem, not his. They'll get it somewhere anyway, so he might as well be paid to not inspect the container.
The container is delivered to a warehouse somewhere and the noocular bomb put in storage, to wait for the right time to get maximum effect. Perhaps when Osama is running out of escape routes. Or maybe some other time.
Maybe they want to get 10 lined up ready to go. That was Al Q strategy with the aircraft. Do it all at once because the window of opportunity will be once only. Now, grandmothers can't even get on an aircraft with nail clippers. People smoking a cigarette in the toilet result in the aircraft being forced down by fighter aircraft.
Meanwhile, Al Q is shipping in opium and noccular bombs while the security people hassle airline passengers. Such a good trick by Al Q; distract and outflank.
Once the first nuke goes off in downtown LA or somewhere, the borders will snap shut and Geiger counters will be everywhere, as when Chernobyl sent a cloud over Europe and the reindeer went radioactive. Opium will be banned and will be considered UnAmerican! So they need to get the Big Bangs all in place ready for a super-duper knockout blow.
Sure, the USA will go absolutely ape after that and there really will be a crusade. I wouldn't want to own real estate in Mecca after that! But Al Q would see any USA response as more grist to the mill. They don't mind a few nukes in return. There's plenty of room with Allah for lots of martyrs. Virgins for everyone, even the women and children [maybe female martyrs are rewarded with something else - I'm not up on Jihad theology].
Anyway, I wonder just exactly where all those thousands of tons of opium are going. Have all Pakistan's nukes been accounted for by the USA?
What about North Korea's? Not to mention China's! The USA does lots of threatening towards China, so China might find it useful to distract the USA with nuclear weapons in other countries, such as North Korea, Pakistan and Iran.
It would be very ironic if New Zealand's nuclear-free legislation kept out USA nukes and nuclear-powered engines, but allowed transhipment of an Islamic Jihad nuke to the USA.

PS: I suppose they will set them off when some customs officer rumbles them and they realize the net is closing. Until then, they'll keep shipping them in and stashing them to get a bigger bang. Pakistan is presumably still producing nukes as part of their 'self-defence' programme against India.
BTW, I wonder if Warren Buffett's insurance company covers this. I suppose not as he expects a nuclear bomb in the USA sometime.
The UK might not be safe either. They should check for containers being left on Horsell Common, which incidentally, happens to be nearby where we used to live in Woking. It was eerie to go walking around it and realize Martians had landed there to destroy Earth, not so long ago. |
