But you seem totally ignorant of when all human life begins.

Can I guess? With the first homo sapiens 100,000 years ago?

Let me set you a problem.

The Health channel has shown a program about fetuses "in feti." That's fetuses that, in the first few days of a pregnancy with twins, get enclosed inside the (future) body of their twin. There they send out blood vessels to the other twin's body, which acts as a blood supply for the enclosed twin. The blood vessels act as an umbilical cord. In effect, one twin is pregnant with the other. The fetus in feti can live indefinitely, or at least until it kills its sibling.

The in feti fetuses in the program had no brains or organs. One had no upper body at all, except rudimentary arms or hands trying to form, and sticking out of the mass. It had a mass of hair, but no head. It never grew big, but was like a baseball, and finally a volleyball, in its twin's abdomen.

Okay. I understand that the headless, brainless, upper-body-less fetus in feti is precious to God, and the normal twin would be criminal to abort it. Or rather, that doctors would be criminal to abort it. It is alive and has human DNA. The normal twin is required to carry the living....thing....in its abdomen until the thing dies, or kills its host and then dies. That's if you're a Catholic.

Right, Tom?

The normal twin in the show was 8 years old when the fetus in feti grew to the size of a volleyball and started to kill him. It was the color of putty, extremely hairy, and not recognizable as human. It inspired a certain awe and horror; the word "monster" could apply. The boy's parents took him to a hospital, where doctors first severed the blood vessels/umbilical cord that it lived from, KILLING IT immediately. Then they removed the fetus in feti.

Now, fundamentalists think that's all right if the host's life was in danger, and it was. My question for them is, what about the first 8 years of the boy's life? When he wasn't dying from having his blood sucked by the fetus in feti? He just had a huge stomach and was somewhat weak, supplying the blood for two and all.

Does God demand that the little boy carry the living bottom half of a human until it starts to kill him? And then does God say, okay, you can have an abortion, little boy?
