That is the one big gamble that Bush and company have taken getting us involved in a war in Iraq. If things had gone smoothly and we were now heading for a smooth transition to a new government, then their invasion would have been a success, perhaps even helping to fight terrorism in the long run. But, now things are spinning out of control. Now, the U.S. is starting to resort to means that might encourage more people to join the terrorist movement, like bombing mosques and killing civillians inadvertently (something that might not appear so inadvertant to the locals). There is the distinct possibility that this war situation in Iraq could lead to a massive civil war and perhaps a wider war involving other surrounding countries. The U.S. has lit a fuse in Iraq, who knows where it's going to eventually lead???
