Good day to have a good retriever and leave the gun in the car. I had a good retriever, 2 in fact. One limited me out on pheasants before I got my gun loaded one day. The other I took to Maryland for geese. One year old. First flock we dropped a goose and sailed 2. As Buddy was bringing in the first goose the guide said we needed a truck and a boat to get the other two geese. Sent the dog 200 yards on a blind retrieve for the second and over 300 yards on a land and water for the third retrieve.
