I wonder what the morale of troops are now and what they will be when they're definitely told that they're not going home any time in the future.

I remember a 60 minutes report about the Iraqi police a few months ago. Those poor guys had a police station that had nothing, including doors. They had no radios, no cars and, at the time, no guns.

They were on 'patrol' which meant that they walked around the neighborhood surrounded by armed US troops. That was it. Apparently at least one of the police turned around at night and was part of the insurgency. Gee.

Over 630 Iraq police have been killed in the last 6 months. Now they're exected to go into a firefight against their countrymen on the side of the occupation army?

That's a difficult position to be caught in.
