Actually, I found this comment of some interest:

If they were running for re-election, that would be a damned good question

Let's see.
This 9/11 commission is supposed to determine how
9/11 could have occurred and caught us flat-footed and what we can do to fix the problem for the future, right?

Ergo, examination of the Clinton Administration's
actions over an 8 year term is highly relevant. The fact
that Clinton/Gore are not running this political season
is entirely irrelevant to the avowed purpose for the
commission. How could this commission even do its job
without closely examining 8 years of an immediately preceding administration?

Mr. Redfish, however, basically asserted that your question
is irrelevant since Clinton is not running for re-election.

So, what does this mean?

It means that Mr. Redfish has just admitted that the whole
9/11 commission show is nothing more than a political ploy
being used by his party for political purposes against the
Bush administration precisely BECAUSE this is an
election year.

There's no question about THAT.
Mr. Kerrey's questioning of Rice made it
abundantly clear, and now even a dyed in the
wool Bush hater like Mr. Redfish has admitted it.

I'd say that's progress.:-)
