Don't worry too much, Dr. Voodoo, Jay is just being sarcastic. Please note his remark that even if the US backs out of Iraq the present allies of the US, (the "coalition") will persevere to the end. That is the one place where the sarcasm shows itself most clearly.
A few posts back he seemed to be bored with making the same old points to unbelieving people so he decided on reductio ad absurdum. In other words, advancing their viewpoint in a way so as to reveal its mistakenness clearly.
Actually I think Bush is in trouble which is good for everybody. If Kerry is elected will he stop trying to help Israel? That's a big question. Also large questions are will he accept sensible(i.e. higher) interest rates? Will the higher interest rates precipitate a collapse in something(stocks, houses?)? In other words the end of Bush won't end all the problems; it will end the ill starred Bush-started Iraq war. That's one big problem.
