Nice rant.
I actually agree with 99%.

I think the press is frozen in fear. The Japanese hostage situation is a terrorist act that everyone should comprehend. The press is focused on what Japan may do. It is past time for the editorials to quit focusing on the political reaction to an event and begin to focus on the elimination of the terror itself. It is past time for the press to get mad at someone besides Americans.

IN his closing statement yesterday, Thompson said we(meaning the commission) are focused on what agencies and the executive branch were doing. Then he said nobody has asked what congress was doing. He went on to explain that congressional failure is certainly part of the equation since they oversee and finance the agencies.

The search for the guilty continues within our own government. It seems the 9/11, Spanish, Israeli, Turkish, Russian, Bali, etc., slaughters were not enough to shift our left leaning politicians. They still seek retribution against Americans for 9/11. Thonpson seemed to be saying congress is hiding their own mistakes by investigating other Americans.

We must somehow shift gears and apply maximum effort to pressing the war against our attackers not to hounding our defenders.

I fear that sufficient American blood has not flowed to get Congress like minded. I fear that sufficient Arab blood has not flowed to convince them to change. Therefore this war must continue and likely expand.

Your gut reaction is a good sign. Anger often follows fear. When we all get pissed off and angry, we will be ready for the next step which is to fight.
