<<I bought 15K of ATML ranging from 2.75 to 4.90 per share in 2003. So far ATML has been good for me. Should I take some profit now or Do you think ATML will get back to the $10 level? Today's surge with good volume looks like more up before the quarter end of month is possible? Lately ATML has several new chips in the market; perhaps, that will affect the next quarter earning? Only you can answer that question as a lot of factors must be looked at...I have no idea what you current financial situation is like..what your personal life is like..wife, kids, grandkids and etc......One must look at their own individual situation to decide what is best for them...what is best for one, may not be for another...
As for ATML, I obviously like the company very much....but at the same time, I had quite a few shares, many bought very, very low, so I have slowly sold lots on the way up....my goal is to get my money off the table and leave the casinos money to ride....and even then, if gains are huge, I will still take some off the table as I have been.....Still have plenty of shares left...I have 1k shares I am targeting to sell if we hit 8 or so, and the rest of my shares I will let ride unless it comes crashing down.......Just remember, you can not go broke taking a profit....doesn't mean I am advocating you sell, but if you do, there is nothing wrong with locking in a profit..best to be prudent then greedy....This is just a suggestion...if you really like atml and think it will be going higher and you can afford to risk losing your current gains, then maybe hold on IF you feel good about the markets and atml.....or, I see you have some shares bought at $2.75...well, you have more then 100% gains in those shares, so maybe sell just a portion, take some nice gains and taking away any chance of a future loss.....once you have locked in a guaranteed gain and have free shares left on the table, you can sleep better at night knowing there is no way you can lose, even if atml goes under....anyway, can't really tell you what to do..something you have to decide for yourself as everybody has different objectives and is sitting in different positions so it must always be an individual choice.....Good luck and happy trading.... |
