I dunno there Michael.. wrt to Iraq I think Chrétien garnered lots of support from folks that were otherwise tired of him. OTOH I'm assuming the trump card is Harper's vehement support for the war ?? I agree. Similarly I firmly believe Martin though is detracting and NOT enhancing his position in the GTA (Greater Toronto) at least, by playing up the meeting Bush issue.. I find few folks here, whether pro or con the Iraq invasion, that trust Bush... or like the idea of Martin cozying up to him.. IMO it adds to the scent of an American sycophant Martin already bears.. FWIW I think it's gotta play that way anywhere east of Ontario also... EDIT was just discussing this issue yesterday at my daughter's skarting lesson ... so a real multicural group of mostly middle to upper middle class... Spots...
