"Many Muslims believe the rise in such incidents can be tied to the anti-Muslim rhetoric used by some conservative commentators,
particularly radio talk show hosts"

Not to mention the folks on SI- the way some folks talk on SI is irresponsible- you don't call other people subhuman, or the many other epithets I've read on SI. That kind of thinking turns the people spouting it, into folks every bit as inhumane as nazis, and they are quite clearly willing and ready to be just that inhumane. It is disturbing to see people so enthusiastic about giving up whatever shred of humanity they possessed. It's not surprising, but it's disturbing. Conservatives who don't want to be seen as inhumane bigots, ought to stand up on the threads and hold the folks spouting hate speech accountable. They won't, but they should- these are the same folks who think that traitors are folks who don't agree with the politics of the administration, and disagreeing about national policy during time of war should be forbidden. Hello. Can we say fascism? I knew we could.
