Interesting discussion you folks are having here.

Darffot, I like your thoughts on housing prices and wage increases, but I wonder what will happen if rates are kept low (artificially or not) and the dollar depreciates further? Would not the asset appreciation in the stock market help offset some of the wage stagnation? It seems that is what is (to some measure) behind the thinking at the Fed these days.

Tommaso, if the government has "lost control" I would expect one of the places for it to continue to show up will be in a weaker dollar. If one assumes that homes in the US will appreciate in their dollar denominated values roughly in line with the decrease in the dollar.....
