The reality: No one “raved” at all. Very many accurately complimented Rice. Even leftists knew and claimed she had done very well, especially Bob Kerry who, because of Condi’s coolheaded oblique assault of his position, became so flustered he called her “Dr. Clarke” repeatedly, until she eventually corrected him. This was (further disproving the first fantasy mentioned above) a point noted in the New York Post. Moreover, the majority of Americans also believe she did very well and that Clarke is not credible rasmussenreports.com.

THE FANTASY: 3. Bush will continue to sink in the polls.
The Reality: Bush Job Approval Rising, Now at 52%
…Today's figure is the first time the President's Job Approval has topped 51% in a week. It comes on a day when the nation's economic confidence has reached its highest level in two months. In fact, the confidence of Consumers has gone up on six of the seven days since last week's encouraging jobs report was released.
Additionally, the President's approval ratings have been up on both nights since National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice testified before a national television audience. Rice got very good reviews from American voters following the testimony.
