Lot's of posts to read since last night. At one point I reached overload and had to pause. I was multiplexing - reading this post, and trying to watch the three old line broadcast networks. ABC had a panel including Perle, the NBC segment of Meet the Press had McCain, and the ending piece on CBS's Sunday Morning was discussing the restoration of an old pipe organ. While your Bob Kerry piece was saying our military and political tactics in Iraq are creating the conditions for civil war there and giving Al Qaeda a powerful rationale to recruit young people to declare jihad on the United States. McCain is calling for more troops and greater sacrifice of blood and treasure, while Perle is pontificating that we haven't done enough and should be supporting Chalabi and pursuing other countries. Meanwhile the organ restorers are having a problem getting the instrument to play true harmonious chords (the pipes had been shortened). There was a sudden tilt as my befuddled brain started to put this all together. As I said, I hit the pause button. Now that I've "caught up", it's time for another trip to the garden. later lurqer
