>>>Moderate Iraqis saw the looting and American soldiers guarding only the oil ministry.<<<

Yes, that was the telltale sign. Once America decided it prudent only to protect the Iraqi Oil Ministry Building, and no other buildings, including a museum in possession of some of the rarest of all archeological finds, even the war's proponents should have taken this action as the hint that something was wrong.

What's absolutely, completely and utterly ridiculous, stupendous really, is that the Bush Administration--having failed on WMD, having failed on Al Qaeda links--then tried to say that it's good that Saddam is gone and that the people of Iraq can finally have a democracy.

Well, were democracy the true intent, the Iraqi buildings holding the government records of citizenry would have been the first to have been protected by the American troops. Those files, much like many of the human bodies, have now become dust in the wind.

I really think that Republicans ultimately are going to have a hard time convincing themselves that they ought to vote for Bush. This is why I don't think Bush is gonna be on the ticket. I think the wiser GOP minds are soon going to recognize Bush doesn't stand a chance and a movement will begin toward nominating the Senatre Majority Leader, Bill Frist. The question then will become: Will Bush give Frist his 200 million campaign war chest? Or will he keep it to wine and dine the Bin Laden family?
