Excerpts from H&Q: * Over the past few days we have had several conversations with both senior management and middle management at Ascend. * It appears there is strong European demand developing for Ascend's products. However, we believe that Ascend is somewhat concerned about the timing of this demand. * It appears that NTT has now formally signed a contract for ASND to deploy datacom (Cascade) switch equipment in support of its new Internet service. We believe this is likely the largest order ever received by ASND or Cascade for frame relay or ATM equipment.
